Boo

Since Halloween in almost here, I wanted to create this card that was inspired from the S.W.A.T.  mood board. Her hair was shaped by tearing a stamped image around the skull and adding bangs with the left over pieces.

I hope that everyone has a fun and safe Trick or Treating.

Challenge that I played in:
Red Carpet Studio- #81 The Haunted Mansion
HIMCR #171- Any Holiday!

Supplies:
Stampin' Up! Cardstock and Stamps
Bella Blvd: Mini Alpha Stickers
Bling: Michael's dollar bin

Waiting for Squirrels!

I was told that if I planted an oak tree that the little squirrels would come. That is not the case here. 10 years and still waiting. So since I was longing to have something fun and cute in my tree, I thought how cute it would be to hang acorn boxes from the tree as a fall decoration. Mary from Svgcuts has created the perfect box to support my great idea. I plan to insert a string and magnetize the lids so that when they are filled with little gifts, they will stay closed.

I entered my box in this challenge at StuckOnUSketches.

I really do love the softness of the beautiful papers from the DCWV collection called Old World Stack.

A Creative Scrappers Challenge

It has been such a long time since I have taken on a Creative Scrappers challenge. Here is the link to this fun sketch.

I decided to keep it simple and mainly use just papers and stickers for my embellishments. I love how Simple Stories kits are so easy to work with.

We're All Mad Here....

I was almost late for this very important date! Today is the last day to partake in this fun challenge hosted by StuckOnUSketches.

I thought, how cute it would be to create a mushroom card and add some of Alice in Wonderland characters. Mary from SVG Cuts, has the greatest files to work with. I used the mushroom card from the Enchanted Autumn SVG Kit and then used the Alice's Cuddly Friends to embellish my card. This card makes me smile every time that I look at it.

My papers are AC Cardstock and DCWV and the bling is Darcy.

CMS challenge #71

I was in the mood for Halloween and having so many old Halloween photos waiting to be scrapped, I decided to create a layout of my son all dressed up as Howard the Duck. The words "bad movie" is an understatement. But since my husband worked on it, (not a proud moment in his life), Ryann insisted that he wanted to be Howard for Halloween.

Since my photos are from the late 80's, I thought that it would only be appropriate to use old stuff out of my stash. My orange card stock is Stampin' Up!, the Halloween borders are from a Debbie Mumm calendar kit and my spider, cat and candy corn die cuts are a K&Company from a few years back. I am not certain who made the alpha minis or the yarn. I love how my papers from the calendar kit were a perfect match for the CMS challenge #71

Mom's Birthday Card

My Mom is a fall baby and soon it will be her big day. When I saw the LCOM Sketch 93 by Ana Castro, I knew right off  that this was going to become her Birthday card. Great sketch Ana!

While playing around with my papers, I came up with the idea of making a magnetic card. Mom is always displaying her cards on the kitchen table and after a while, they all end up in one big pile. I wanted to be able to remove the front of the card so that she could show them in a fashionable manner. This is a win win for all the people who do not want to save the whole card but just the time intensive handmade front. (Don't you like how I put that in bold)? I made the front layer magnetic, so that it can be displayed on any steel surface.

This is what my card looks like all pieced together.

I didn't want my card to look naked and needed a place to hide the steel, I got to work on creating a simple and matching base layer. The steel is hidden behind the leaves. This part of the card would even be the perfect place to write or stamp a hidden message.

This is the inside of my card

Here is what it looks like on my frig.

I am going to have some fun coming up with "what's next" in the world of magnetic designs.

I am planning on posting a more detailed tutorial later in the week.

It has been along time since I took on a challenge from The Craft Journal. I glittered up some white AC Cardstock with Martha Stewart's fire opal glitter. I then punched some butterflies out with my favorite Martha Stewart's punch.
My patterned paper is by Me and My Big Idea
My craft paper was given to me as a gift. I am not certain who the manufacturer is.
Leaf is from a Stampin' up! punch.
My stickers: The Girl's Paperie
Floss is out of my stash.

Not in my comfort zone.

For this layout, I decided to try a Sketchabilities Sketch. This was the first time in joining in one of their challenges. I have always wanted to play along, but I really have a hard time creating a cool looking messy page. I have always admired the people who think outside the box and create. I know that my take on this wonder sketch is tame, but then again, I am a work in progress.

I love this photo of my son and his Aunt.
She loved to be around him so much. They would make each other laugh.

Papers: Fancy Pants "Happy Go Lucky"

And he called her little red.

My Mom had taken this photo of my son and his first car named, "Little Red." I had this fun collection from K&Company called, "Road Trip" which was the perfect paper choice, if I do say so myself. It included, so many cute die cuts too. I used the Oct. Week 1 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy to create my fun layout.

The brown and blue mini alpha's: Echo Park "Walk in the Park" and "Everybody Loves Christmas"
The Red mini alpha's: Jenni Bowlin Studio

Still going strong

Here is the sketch that Tracy R. created for the My Scraps and More Sketches blog hop challenge.

This sketch was a breeze to use with the help of some great papers from Echo Park. The paper line was called Everybody Loves Christmas. I added some pearls to Santa and the little bird's hat. Rudolph also got a big shiny red nose.

Even the inside of my card is all decked out.

5 more to go!

And, yet another My Scraps & More Sketches blog hop sketch. I do not know what it is, but I always love to add circles to my cards and scrapbook pages. Jessica made a really cool circle card sketch.

I used my Stampin' Up! punches for my circles. My cardstock is MME Halloween (Scary Sparkles) I just love the look that those papers together. My bling is Darice. The sentiment is part of the paper.

Off I go to to continue on. I am not certain, if I will get much more done tonight, but I will try. I just have to keep telling myself only 5 more to go.

Another great sketch for you to try.

This one was created by Nadine for the My Scraps and More Sketch Blog hop!

This was a fun one to play with. I really liked this rustic collection from MME called
Signature Christmas.

The brown cardstock is from Recollections. I used Stampin' Up! punches to round my edges of my cardstock, punch the circle and the bottom snowflake. The top snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch. The twine is from my stash. My bling is from Daiso.

Now on to the next card challenge!

Happy World Card Making Day!

So much inspiration can be found on the web today. Be sure to check out my side bar for challenges and manufactures giveaways. My Scraps and More Sketches is having a card blog hop this weekend. Each of the DT has created a cards sketch for us to complete. Just think, you can get a head start on your Fall and Christmas cards this weekend. For my first card, I decided to play with Wendi 's sketch

I made this cute Halloween card using some MME Blackbird papers . I fussy cut the witch and Franky and popped them up with some Pop Up Dots and then added some gold stars. This was a fast and easy sketch to work with.

This was a hard one to scrap.

It's hard to sometimes scrap old photo of the people out of your pass. This is my ex with his grandfather. I wanted to include this layout in my son's album so he can see what his Great Grandfather and his parents looked liked way back in time. I do believe that History is important, even though we are not always proud of  our choices. With that said, Shirley created this great sketch for all of us to scrap with.

My papers: Stampin' up!
Sickers: From the dollar store years ago
